Update: T-shirt Quilt
The t-shirt quilt is coming along nicely. And as with any pattern I have tweaked this one. My friend Leeza decided she wanted to sew as much of it as possible. Teaching someone to sew and a quilt being their first project has its challenges. First was the issue of the t-shirts bunching on her machine as she tried to sew them together. A walking foot is a must with any quilting project. I decided to sew the strips along the sides of the t-shirt panels to avoid any additional bunching until she could find a walking foot for her machine.
Second issue was keeping a 3/8" seam allowance as straight as possible. This is also a challenge with a new machine and no extension table. I have an acrylic extension table for my Bernina. It was a bit pricey, but well worth it!
Today Leeza will be sewing the side panels together and the middle strips. I will be quilting this for her as she will be on vacation next week.
