Operation Office Overhaul, Problem #2
Problem #2: What to keep and what needs to go?
Here is what made the cut:
1. Meet Thelma and Lady:
I love vintage dress forms. I am lucky enough to have found these two in my price range, because we all know just how pricey they can be! Lady was adopted first, I say "adopted" because they are like family. Weird I know, but I have never claimed to be normal. Lady came from a local antique mall. She is wearing a lovely dress my daughter would love for me to alter for her, but I haven't as of yet. Thelma was in poor condition when I found her. After stripping her of tattered red fabric and giving her several coats of Mod Podge, she has turned out beautifully.
They now reside in there new location in my office, between the two doors. One door leads to the laundry/pantry room and the other to the dining room. The floral print is a Goodwill find along with the curtain you see in the door.

2. Cutting Table:
I purchased the workbench and oak top four years ago at Menards. In our previous house it was used as a kitchen island. When we first moved to our current home it went to the basement to be used as a console table. After some rearranging I decided to bring it upstairs and use it as my cutting table. It has worked out better than I could have imagined. Two plastic rolling carts fit perfectly underneath.
This large Steelcase metal desk was an awesome find. Now getting it home in my little Jeep was an adventure! I love this desk, it is sturdy and is large enough to allow me to quilt without fabric pulling as I am sewing.
4. My Desk:
I wanted a large desk to hold my computer and all other junk...so Hubby built me one! I found the legs at Pier 1 and painted them gold. I purchased antique nails from Ebay for the top and wallah I have a dining room size table for a desk. Three plastic rolling carts fit on one side and another on the other.
5. Filing Cabinet:
Love this color! It is now organized with all business paperwork and office supplies!
